Quarantine has helped me to be more focused on my blog and be more open with what is on my mind and my life in fitness. I figured this would be a good time to do a, “Get to Know Me”. Just like my Fitness Journey, my life, knowledge, Professional Life and just Life evolve and grow. The Danielle I am now is not the same Danielle who started this blog 5 years ago. So, here we go!!!!!
I was 180 lbs at one point in my life. I tried every weight loss fad under the sun. Slim Fast, Lean Cuisines, Atkins, No Carbs. And from that I learned that proper exercise and nutrition is the way to have a sustainable weight loss.
I have a bachelors degree in Political Science and Women’s Studies. I wanted to be an attorney, and then I realized that my true passion is in the Health and Fitness industry. I have been in the industry for 10 years now, and I still have the same passion and tenacity for it now, that I did back then.
I love to cook!! Part of the reason I am a trainer is because I love to eat sooo much. I enjoy trying to make indulgent recipes healthy, some are amazing and some are an epic fail.
I love the movie franchise The Fast & Furious. Yes, I know go ahead and judge me!! I said what I said!
I love to learn, one of the reasons I enjoy being a Personal Trainer is the constant learning that you have to do. Continuing Education courses are a requirement of maintaining your certification, and I love this aspect of the industry. (It forces you to stay on your toes)
One of my biggest frustrations in the Fitness Industry is that some trainers will think it is very easy to sling nonsense (I was going to use another verb, but I shall refrain). There is no quick fix, there isn’t a magic pill. It’s hard work, dedication and sacrifice. (It is possible to be healthy and enjoy your life. Rome was not built in a day. Therefore, know it takes time.
If I could travel the world for a few months, experiencing different cultures and trying different cuisines I would love to do that. But, ya know that thing called bills and responsibilities gets in the way. One day I will put myself in the position to do this. I am speaking it into existence.
These are just a few fun tidbits about me. I hope this has helped you learn a bit about me since you’ve stopped by to read my blog, which I greatly appreciate.
Love & Health,
Danielle
